In the Know: Lucky's Market opening April 17 in North Naples

Q: We enjoy following you in the paper and online, and were wondering if you have an update to when the new Lucky's store will open in North Naples?

— David and Nicolette Murray, Bonita Springs

A: The first Lucky's Market store in North Naples is scheduled to open April 17, said Krista Torvik, a spokeswoman for the grocery chain based in Boulder, Colorado.

Lucky’s Market has two new stores under construction in North Naples. The Lucky’s coming to the former Wild Oats location near the corner of Naples Boulevard and Airport-Pulling Road is targeted to open next month, while the new store being built off Wiggins Pass Road at Gateway Shoppes at North Bay may not open until early 2020, Torvik said.

Lucky’s Market is hosting a hiring fair to fill positions for its North Naples store coming soon to Promenade Shops at Naples Centre, 6424 Naples Blvd., between Chick-fil-A and Hollywood 20 cinema. The store has full-time and part-time positions available in all departments and is looking to hire more than 100 employees to staff its new store, Torvik said.

Hiring managers will be at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Naples, 3557 Pine Ridge Road, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays through March 29. For more information go to LuckysMarket.com.

Lucky’s first Southwest Florida store opened three years ago at Naples Towne Centre South on U.S. 41 East in East Naples. The small chain has 35 stores open in 11 states. The mostly natural and organic grocery concept started by two chefs in 2003 includes a wide variety of specialty foods such as in-house smoked bacon, house-made sausages, fresh seafood, local produce and an in-store bakery.

In Lee County, a new Lucky’s Market store is opening soon on the corner of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Veterans Parkway in Cape Coral. Developers of the future Marketplace at Coconut Point also want Lucky's Market to anchor the cluster of shops and restaurants off U.S. 41 near the Coconut Point regional mall in Estero.
